Water cooling returns to IBM mainframe

Computerworld notes that the last water-cooled mainframe was the ES/9000 delivered in 1995. It seemed like a good idea - get rid of those vast vats of water and use another method for cooling. With the new zEnterprise, there is a water-cooling option (not integrated) which can provide some real gains in energy efficiency and floor space issues for datacenters.
