The Readymade Challenge
A recent art exhibit in New York titled "Untethered" by Eyebeam Art and Technology Center showcased a sculpture garden of everyday objects deprogrammed of their original function, embedded with new intelligence and transformed into surrealist and surprising readymades. The exhibition included a photocopier that reads the night sky; a PDA turned guitar; and a piano that plays the Internet, as well as other pieces by 15 artists working at the intersection of art and technology.
Here in the T-rexxers universe, we imagine a world in which this kind of exploration becomes a necessity. As the world dismantles, communications are cut off. It is up to you to reconnect people. The pieces are all there, you have to put it back together with just 3 items. Start with a satellite dish, a calculator, and a pager. Create a readymade object that redefines communications. Feel free to break it down, reprogram it, and completely re-define what connections are in the process.
